Southern California gasoline prices finally dip below $4 per gallon
Southland gas prices have finally fallen below $4 a gallon after an extended run-up.
And a combination of factors - including strong inventories, a decline in crude prices, the slow pace of hiring and more fuel-efficient vehicles - are expected to offset the usual price hikes that occur for the summer driving season, industry officials said.
On Thursday the average price for a gallon of regular in the Los Angeles-Long Beach region was $3.99, down a penny from the previous day, down 5 cents from a week earlier and down 20 cents from a month ago, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
