Controversial motor fuel with more ethanol raises concerns, what almost everybody has known for a very long time now. The EPA has no clue what they are doing to the citizens and vehicles of the US and making the rest of the country do what should NOT be done. Somebody has put a stop to this ethanol crap in gasoline, Sneeky certainly isn't going to do anything about it. NO FUEL FROM FOOD! NO *E-5, *E-10, *E-15 OR *E-100 –> ONLY 'E-0' fuel is Allowed! Drives vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

EtOH has never been the answer. Let's get back to using corn for food, not for fuel in the tank.

e-10 is bad enough, e-15 will destroy vehicles.

The thinking that the use of ethanol would reduce gas prices? So much for that thinking. Gas prices have been at record highs since 2008. Thanks for nothing. The only way I like my corn is on the lightly buttered on the cob.

“This is one big lie, as it is not mandated anywhere.”
What cave have you been living in, Goldseeker? The Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) requires the use of billions of gallons of non-petroleum fuel, largely ethanol, each year. Federal regulations require the use of reformulated fuel in certain areas: EPA site listing RFG mandate areas. Some state laws also mandate reformulated fuel. They may not explicitly state an ethanol requirement but that is what is used to achieve RFG standards in 99% of all cases.

If you have a new or recently made piece of power equipment such as a lawn mower or a snowblower, the owner's manual will tell you not to use a blend greater than E-10 as the engine is not designed to run with a blend of more than 10% ethanol.

They also have a tendency to burn out small engines, if you use this crap. Don't put it in a lawnmower or snowblower!

"However, a federal Department of Energy study found a 3.7 percent decrease in miles per gallon with E10 and a 5.3 percent drop in fuel economy with E15."
Those are really conservative numbers. I would expect at least double those decreases for many vehicles.

“Nationwide, only a dozen or so stations in the corn ethanol-producing states of Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas sell [E15].”
It is good to know that this garbage is not catching on.

Reminds me of a story I heard as a kid. A farmer was trying to mix sawdust with oats to feed his mules. Did not work out so well with the horsepower.

Ethanol should not be in gasoline.
It damages engines, and drives up the price of corn on the world market.

If you have a flex fuel vehicle then no problem I am guessing. However I do not I have a 1997. But in the long run ethanol may work but it cannot all come from CORN as we are seeing now, there has to be other methods. It however does not seem to be lowering our prices.

Build a car engine/system differently if you want more ethanol in a gas mixture. In other words, build a car that thrives & runs on it. That will get more stations to carry it!

Are there any people out there with no financial stake in the matter who approve of this 15% ethanol idea? I really doubt it. It's time to come to our senses and put the brakes on the whole ethanol business.

Yes, it is a major concern but the EPA seems to be ignoring science and complaints of damage to engines anyway.
