until more stations are built, there's no way for me to go for a CNG vehicle (not that I'm in the market for one).

That's all good, for a start...

Compressed natural gas: A trend on the horizon, as more and more vehicles are built to use natural gas OR converted over to natural gas, more natural gas will be used and the price will go up, just like the morning sun. Don't expect natural gas to stay low for very long, the trend for all fuel prices is always up and up more! It does Not matter if you have to heat your house with it either, higher natural gas prices coming. An article on here said that less natural gas is being produced because there is NO profit to keep drilling and producing natural gas. Less CNG Supply, Higher NatGas prices coming! Big Oil and Big Gas exports fuel and natural gas to other countries that will pay more for it, much more than here. That Canadian pipeline will export that refined crude oil (fuel) and natural gas by way of the refineries on the Gulf Coast. There will be NO price reduction or cheaper prices for fuel or natural gas IN the US, so it does NOT matter how much crude oil or natural gas is produced. Honda has the Civic GX. Get a refill kit for the home natural gas pipeline and fill it up at home. If you are traveling, know where your natural gas refill stations are and plan according. There are many online sites that have CNG refill stations located across the US for people that have to refill their CNG vehicles. Plan your trip with those stations on the route. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

Would be nice to have CNG from what I ear and read BUT I'm not sure the average customer is ready to handle such an explosive product.

Apparently the author of this article does not know that GM and Ford are also building bifuel gasoline/CNG 3/4 ton extended cab pickups. Typical example of a reporter actually not knowing the subject area about which they are writing.
It would be nice if these bifuel ¾ ton pickups sell well enough to convince Chrysler, GM and Ford to expand the bifuel concept to their crew cab offerings in addition to the extended cab coming out this model year. A ¾ ton bifuel 4x4 crew cab pickup with a 6.5 foot bed would be of great interest to us. The 650 mile range is a big plus as well. It would also be a great plus if the CNG fuel tank was mounted under the bed on the opposite side of the gasoline fuel tank freeing up the bed space now used in the current production models by the CNG fuel tank. The exhaust pipes and muffler can easily be rerouted in the space remaining.
If you are interested in seeing if any CNG stations are near you, check out the website below and click on the fuel pump icon to see a national map of where there are public CNG fueling stations currently.

Oh spare me! This is like spitting in the wind! CNG vehicles... please! Does anyone have any idea how difficult it is to fuel one of these vehicles... It will take special pumps, and a higher level of handling... don't think the American public is smart enough for this.

Stand by for the tax collector. I suspect some of the magic of CNG will quickly disappear when the gummint gets more involved.

I can see CNG for fleets now where they can fuel them at a central location, freeing up other fuels for family vehicles for now.

Wow! 3 out of 5 articles are all on natural gas. Could have been named topic of the day.
This one discusses the trend toward natural gas vehicles being finished at the factory rather than going to an upfitter to add the system the manufacturer did not bother engineering.
This suggests that numbers are expected to climb. Either that, or the price of parts for the system have gotten really low, so the manufacturer makes significant money doing it themselves.
Other articles are about fill it at home natural gas pump for homes. Not new. What is new is only $500. That makes it cost effective.
The third suggests the natural gas glut we are in will lead to exports which will lead to higher prices.

Consider the recent explosion in Indianapolis, most likely caused by a natural gas leak. I’m not having any of that stuff around my house!!

Well...It's coming.
But really, you all should have asked for it 10 years ago. Demanded it 5 years ago.
The US is so slow that there is a reason the rest of us in the world feels the 21st. century belongs to China.
Take a back seat as China right now is looking to buy out Natural Gas Plays from us in Canada.
Money talks...Bull$hit walks.
