Should we make our own decisions? Or would you rather the government tell you everything to do? How about they get busy taking care of our nations health problems and balancing the budget? I like the wind to blow through my hair when I ride, however if I go over 40 mph, I choose to wear a helmet to keep the wind from whistling in my ears. I prefer to decide myself, whether or not to do a lot of things, particularly wearing a helmet on a motorcycle. I'm 66 and never been in an accident. My secret: Drive defensively because some people probably got their licenses without passing a test and it's obvious to see. Many out there are driving after revocation. How about giving them rules since they are incapable of making rational decisions on their own.

NO! Seriously, when I step out of the office into 105 degrees for my 25 mph commute home, I have to shove my head into an oven? Who is making this demand? Some driver with their air conditioned butt planted firmly behind the tinted windows of a pretentious 3-ton guzzler? Every close call I've had is with one of these behemoths.

The helmet won't make a lot of difference when you run me over while multi-tasking with your Bluetooth and new nav system. Ban guzzlers AND mandatory helmets.

"Let the rider decide."

NO imo! I've started riding when a helmet was required by Texas state law and didn't like the law. The law was changed later so the rider had a option. Now, if you happen to have a run in with a car then let's hope you chose to wear that helmet.

But if you see how people drive these days ( driving high , intoxicated, drunk, tired, or distracted..), a yes answer means you might live to see another day--I did!!!

Either a helmet or shovel so a passerby can scrape your brains off the highway should be required.

Absolutely, there really aren't any good reasons not to. I work as a nurse and have seen too many people come in with preventable long injuries or death

I'm in awe !!!
South of Tucson a van with 15 Illegals rolls and 4 Helicopters are dispatched... all medical bills are paid by taxpayers...
And we have people whining about a motorcycle rider without a helmet.
Nine chances out of ten... the accident wasn't his fault anyway.
///no wonder we have such a bunch of YO-YOs in the political system...
where do you think they come from...

If you want wear a helmet... wear one !!!
If you don't want to... Then Don't wear one !!!!
If you don't ride... then it don't concern you...
Work your job... pay your taxes !!!!
If you don't like the way things are going then run for office and change them.
If you live in a state that has a helmet law and you don't like it... MOVE !!! (or quit riding)

No, so long as it also waives their right to have the general public pay for their hospital stay if injured in a crash.

I'm not sure who wouldn't want to. But, here's the thing, we have to wear seat belts. Legislation is generally retroactive 3.14.

I never rode in AK, I started when I moved back to the lower 48. I have had sweat soaking me with my gear on, and I still would NEVER ride without it.

The idiots voting "yes" have never been on a motorcycle! They have just listened to the lies of the NHTSB and the media. These fools aren't the ones who would take part in the Boston Tea Party. They are the dopes who let the government take away more and more of our freedom with nary a peep out of them. I'd like to see them have to wear a plastic hat on a 95 degree day for 8 hours! What a bunch of ignorant boobs!

I remind you that you don't have a right to drive a car or ride a motorcycle in the first place! Driving is a privilege.

I kinda feel that since my tax dollars helped build the stinkin road, I kinda feel I have the right to drive on it. Granted I have no more rights on
that road than other taxpayers...and law and order should prevail.

My opinion is instead of trying to protect people from careless drivers ...get the careless drivers off the road.

And guess what? For those that say the government shouldn't have the right to require helmets, or seat belts in cars, I remind you that you don't have a right to drive a car or ride a motorcycle in the first place! Driving is a privilege, and all privileges have laws and/or responsibilities attached.
